Learn Guitar
Learning to play the guitar is not easy; getting started is.
First, we meet to discuss your expectations as a student and mine as a teacher. Having your guitar along for the initial assessment is preferable but not required.
Once you decide to begin study we schedule weekly lessons. During each 40-minute lesson which you will learn about music theory, reading and writing notation and chords, and tuning and playing your guitar.
Guitar Lessons
Items needed for lessons include:
-
•Six-string guitar (steel or nylon strings); acoustic is preferred but electric is okay, too
-
•Manuscript notebook* and ordinary notebook
-
•Binder to keep track of music and worksheets
-
•Guitar lesson book*
-
•Tuning fork*, foot stool* and metronome*
-
*Indicates items available for purchase through me or most local music stores. Some of these items will be required from the first lesson, while others will be needed later in the course of study.
If you own your guitar it will cost $240 to get started. This includes your guitar book, foot stool, and your first four lessons. Thereafter tuition is $40 per 40-minute session.
The studio is in Warriewood, NSW on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, a five minute drive from Mona Vale and Narrabeen. Click here to see a map to the studio.
